DELAYED OPENING/CANCELLATION OF SCHOOL DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
The Milford School District will implement a delayed opening procedure in the event of inclement
weather. The following procedures outline times and methods that will be used to indicate a
delayed opening or cancellation of school.

If conditions are hazardous at 6:00 AM, a delayed opening will be announced on local radio
stations. On a delayed opening, school will open two (2) hours after the regular starting time, and
bus pickups will also be delayed two (2) hours. The regular start time is 7:40 AM, and the delayed
start is 9:40 AM. On a delayed opening day, school will be dismissed at the usual time of 2:12 PM.
If conditions remain hazardous by 8:00 AM, a “No School” announcement will be made over local
TV and radio stations before 9:00 AM.
The Milford School District also uses the Blackboard school communication system. This system
provides the ability to immediately deliver general and emergency communications to specified call
lists quickly and accurately.
