REPORTING A STUDENT ABSENCE

Parents/Guardians are expected to call 673-4201 (Press 1) for the Main Office attendance line or email [email protected] by 9:00 am to report the absence of their child each day the child is absent.

If a call or email is not received by 9:00 am, the school will call to verify status, however, the absence may not be considered excused.

The attendance line should only be used to report student absences!

DISMISSAL FROM SCHOOL

Students may be dismissed from school for family emergencies and medical appointments that
cannot be made outside of school time. The parent/guardian should send their child in with a note
or call the Main Office to request a dismissal. The attendance line should not be used for
dismissals.

Students will sign out in the Main Office before leaving school. The administration may request
written documentation of appointments prior to approving makeup privileges.

Students living with a parent/guardian, regardless of their age, will need to obtain permission from
their parent/guardian for dismissal from school. Students eighteen (18) years old and older who are
declared independent must obtain approval from an administrator prior to signing out. There are no
exceptions to this policy. Students dismissed by the Nurse due to health-related issues need to
check out with the Main Office before leaving the building.
